What is your worth?

Is your cupboard empty

gold eaglecreating hunger from inside

are you fearful

of the statement

dropping on the floor

holding breath

holding fear inside

why did no one tell you

how to run your life

while so many sit at tables

laden with gold

what is the message

we are being told

where does our own worth

lie in this storm

who are you

when the balance is low

are you groveling in the ashes,

picking up the dregs

of others lives’

how is your self worth

when all will fall away

the crucial moment

waiting for that one voice

To say

hold out your hand

here is the gold

here is your worth

wishing it was different

yet deeper inside

the worthiness calls

to you ‘be my friend’

it cannot be

your self

a living dream

of some one else

pride inside the cupboard

do you know your own worth

without a price on your head

a heart in your hand

your worth is not written

on paper

figures on a sheet

it lies in the hearts

of every one you meet

About Caroline Carey

Caroline, born in 1960, grew up with a love for the wild, for nature, for animals and to dance. She wrote poetry and stories, created theater and explored the art of ritual of which she always held a fascination for. Not being of the academic type and being passionate about mystery, immagination and myth, she chose to spend her time alone with her many animals and the passion she had for ecstatic dance whether indoors or in nature. Her imagination was as wild as her life-style and by adapting the religious education insisted on by her family, she was able to recognise her own innate connection to Spirit and the spirit guides she became strongly connected to. Mothering her six, (now adult) children, Caroline has learnt the art of play, creativity, story telling and the deep surrender and unconditional love that motherhood bestows upon us.
